Windward Mall Celebrates 35 Years in Kaneohe with a special Summer Concert.

Celebrating with Hawaii Tourism Authority’s ‘Aha Mele – Hawaiian Music Series and 94.7 KUMU Live Radio Remote.  Mayor’s Proclamation announcing July 29, 2017 will be presented by Lori Kahikina, Director of Environmental Services.

Hoku Zuttermeister was a big winner at the 2008 Na Hoku Hanohano Awards. He was named Male Vocalist of the Year, Entertainer of the Year, Most Promising Artist of the Year, and also received Hawaiian Album of the Year and Liner Notes of the Year. Hoku’s voice ranges from deep and resonating to high and crystal clear which always delights his audiences. He is still a young man, but he has been a part of the Hawaiian music industry for a long time. Hoku is also recognized for his guitar, bass, and ukulele playing abilities. He often performs with his mentors, The Makaha Sons.   Hoku is a graduate of Castle High School, Kaneohe, Hawaii.

Ho‘okena is a mainstay on the island music scene and is synonymous with high quality Hawaiian music.  Since 1986 the group has produced 12 CDs and won numerous music awards.  Their latest CD, Ho’okena 3.0 was released on May 14, 2017 and commemorates their 30th anniversary.  A four-time Na Hoku Hanohano Awards winner and two time Grammy Awards nominee, Ho’okena is recognized for their excellence in recording, composting and creating Hawaiian contemporary music.  The group travels the world to share their harmonious music and promote Hawaii’s rich musical heritage.
